The "Trail Finders (7-9 year olds)" program incorporates opportunities for flow learning, also known as child-led or interest-led learning and daily hikes, but will further introduce art, science, seasonal curriculum, nature journaling, storytelling, and more!
Imagine your child...
Collecting warm eggs from the coop
Watching baby chicks hatch right before their eyes
Exploring the daily rhythms of farm life
Understanding basic budgeting by selling eggs, buying supplies, and saving
Learning how to build a shelter using natural materials
Identifying and understanding the uses of plants in the wild
Gathering fresh fruits and vegetables from their garden
Hiking daily in a place that has become their own
Freely connecting with nature, without any scripts or screens
Socializing with friends they see on a weekly basis
Children will learn various skills associated with caring for animals through hands-on experiences. We do plan to add more animals to the farm as our program grows!
Children will also have the opportunity to learn about food systems. We will have a community garden where children will plant, grow, and harvest their own foods. They will learn about gardening, seasonality, and local foods.
Our programs are designed to foster a love for learning and growth in a nurturing environment while following the seasonal rhythms. We aim to build a supportive community and empower those we serve, in building foundational life skills that will last a lifetime. By enrolling, you are committing to both trimesters - Winter and Spring. We will have a Summer session (billed separately), which is optional.
Trimester Dates:
Winter: January 6 - March 27
Spring Break: March 24 - March 27 (no classes)
Spring: March 31 - May 22
The year long commitment provides children with the opportunity to learn in a consistent environment and build strong social bonds with peers they see on a regular basis.
If you chose to un-enroll midway through the trimester, you will still be charged for the remainder of the trimester in full. If you decide to un-enroll before the start of a new trimester, then you must provide 30 days notice in writing.
We are exclusively outdoors and only cancel class in extreme circumstances (thunder, lightning, snow, extreme wind, extreme cold). If temperatures are below 20° with wind chill for 2.5-3 hours, classes may be canceled. Classes are limited to 16 students and 2 adults (facilitator and assistant or parent volunteer). All teachers pass a background check and are child CPR/First-Aid certified.
Tuition:
One day per week: $170/month
Two days per week: $340/month
You will receive a 10% discount if you pay in full, otherwise you can pay monthly.
Upon registering, you will pay for the first month's tuition and the annual non-refundable registration/material fee of $130. If you pay in full, you will receive the 10% discount and be paid for the full year. You will then receive a separate payment request for the $130 non-refundable registration/material fee. Parents do not need to provide any materials, as all learning materials will be provided by the program.
You may register for one or both class options:
Wednesday AM 9:00-12:00
